Maralla A Panya
The Twinkling Hills at Quiver Tree Lodge
Set gently against the warm contours of the landscape, Maralla A Panya emerges as a light intervention — one shaped by the character of the red earth and the slow, undulating horizon. The architectural response is quiet, seeking resonance with its setting rather than contrast.
The structure is organised as a series of suspended planes — a fine steel framework supporting layered curtain walls that filter views and light in equal measure. This deliberate lightness allows the surrounding landscape to remain visually uninterrupted, while affording the interior a constant dialogue with sky and soil.
Internally, the arrangement of space privileges repose. Surfaces, textures and materials are selected for their sensory tactility and their ability to root the experience within the context of place. Timber, glass, and stone work in concert to form a palette that is both restrained and grounded.
A clear roof canopy dissolves the boundary between interior and night sky — allowing the stars to cast their reflection across the suite and echo the quiet vastness beyond. Externally, timber walkways extend from the private interior realm, leading to a secluded plunge pool and firepit terrace. These outdoor spaces are conceived not as add-ons, but as continuations of the architecture’s intent — to frame stillness, and to hold open the possibility of solitary or shared encounter beneath the stars.
Here, the architecture recedes. The experience is one of immersion — in landscape, in light, and in the quiet rituals of retreat.
